Crysis 2
Single Player Achievement Guide
This is the Lazy Gamer video guide for all of the non-story related achievements in the single player campaign for Crysis 2. If you need The Tourist achievement or any of the collectibles, click here, or just use the link at the bottom of the page.
Secret Achievement
Speeding Ticket
This achievement is obtained by triggering speed cameras throughout the campaign, starting with the camera in Chapter 2. You can use this video guide below to get them all, or follow our complete pictorial Crysis 2 Collectibles Guide here for a full description of each camera location.
Chapter 2: Second Chance
Headhunter
This achievement is extremely easy to get. It can be obtained against the first four enemies you encounter in the game or any time in the campaign you string four headshots together. The best part is you don't even have to make them in consecutive shots, they just have to be consecutive headshot kills. In other words, as the video below shows, you can miss some shots.
Death Slide
This is another easy one and can be done at any point in the campaign. The achievement is accumulative so the kills do not have to be consecutive by any means, but you can also get this one on the first two groups of enemies you encounter.
Two Heads Are Better Than One
Theoretically this achievement could be obtained at several points in the campaign. That said, it is ideal to attempt this one at the checkpoint you get after eliminating the three enemies at the cloak tutorial. You can use your Scarab to get it. Just use the left directional pad to put it on single shot and use cloak. Reload the checkpoint if you fail (the quickest way is to just let the Cell operatives kill you if you fail, as there is no load last checkpoint feature on this game).
Food for Thought
Right after you get the armor tutorial and eliminate the enemies on the roof, you'll come to another rooftop with a big donut on top and you'll get a checkpoint. Drop the donut on the Cell operative below and this achievement is yours.
Blast Radius
This is another achievement that could be obtained in dozens of places throughout the campaign but is easiest to get towards the end of this chapter. After you're in the subway and right after opening the second gate, you'll see a Cell operative get swarmed by four of the alien bugs, just toss a grenade and you should end up with at least three kills, if not more, and the achievement of course.
Chapter 7: Dead Man Walking
Disco Easter Egg
No achievement to be had here, but this funny little scene is well worth the twenty extra seconds it will take you to trigger it as you're going through the campaign.
Chapter 8: Seat of Power
Fastball
This achievement is accumulative and can be obtained over the course of the campaign, starting as early as Chapter 2. The only enemies you can reasonably kill with thrown objects are the little alien bugs and the best spot to get them quick, if you haven't been working on them during your playthrough, is in the first two areas of this chapter. You can follow the video below for help if necessary or if you just want to laugh at how bad The Lazy Gamer is at throwing objects at those little bugs. They're not as easy to hit as you might think! Seriously.
Chapter 9: Dark Heart
Popcorn
This achievement is also accumulative and can be obtained over the course of the campaign but is very quick and easy to get in this chapter and this is also the first chapter you can find the X-43 microwave cannon. If you just burst fire and aim for the head when you get to the larger enemies, you can easily get the achievement in this chapter in one run. If not, you can reload the chapter or just keep an eye out for them. The X-43 appears a lot in the later chapters of the game.
Hole in One
This achievement can only be obtained at a certain point in this chapter. After you have sabotaged the first two nano cores and you're approaching the third, you'll round a corner and see an alien standing in front of you. The hole you have to toss him into is just beyond and below where he is standing.
Chapter 10: Semper Fi or Die
Band of Brothers
This achievement can be a bit tricky, but if you stay out in front of the squad and dispatch the enemies quickly, you should be okay. Obviously your best shot at this one is to play on Recruit. It also helps to pick up the JAW, as you can use it to take out the single Ceph Combat Command Unit you encounter here in one shot. Otherwise they take a lot of shots to kill. Also be aware that there are a couple of marines posted up ahead of you in an area on the righthand side with a turret and some ammo (around the same spot the Ceph Combat Command Unit appears) and they will die on you if you don't get there quick and do some killing. Other than that, it's not too tough.
Chapter 12: Train to Catch
Literary Agent
Very early in this chapter you will get the objective to bring the missile batteries online. Directly afterwards, when you fall back through the library, you will have a tac option to scan some books on a shelf upstairs. Scan the books and this easy achievement is yours.
Chapter 16: Eye of the Storm
Stealth Assassin
It's a really good idea to have purchased Nano Recharge, Mobility Enhance, Covert Ops and Stealth Enhance when attempting this achievement. In fact, it may not be possible without at least Covert Ops and Stealth Enhance. If you have purchased these enhancements, it's actually pretty easy to get the achievement if you follow the path in the video below.
